IBC tanks are widely used in various industries for storing and transporting liquids and granulated substances. An IBC adapter serves as a connection point between the container and external devices such as hoses, pumps or garden fittings. Selecting the right IBC adapter ensures efficient functionality and minimizes the risk of leaks or spills.

Factors to Consider When Choosing an IBC Adapter:

1.Identify the thread of your IBC valve

IBCs come in various types, including those with coarse or fine threads, as well as different thread specifications such as  S60x6 Buttress,M80x3 ,S100x8 and others.Identify the thread type and size of your IBC’s opening to ensure compatibility with the adapter.

IBC Valve Thread

IBC Valves with S60x6 Buttress Outlet are the most commonly used types of valves for IBC tanks. They can connect with a broad range of IBC adapters.

Schutz valves typically feature a 2-1/8″ BSP thread outlet.

Valves with M80x3 threads are commonly found in Chinese IBC brands.

Valves with S100x8 threads, often referred to as 3″ DN80 valves, have a larger thread size compared to DN50 valves.

2.Considering the additional accessories and compatibility:

Consider the additional accessories or fittings required for your application, such as hoses, quick connectors or taps.Verify the compatibility of the adapter with these accessories to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

3.Material Compatibility:

Consider the compatibility of the adapter material with the contents of the IBC. For example, certain chemicals or substances may react with specific materials, leading to corrosion or contamination.

4.Seal Type:

Pay attention to the type of seal used in the adapter, ensure that the seal provides a secure and leak-proof connection between the IBC and the external device.
